Finally back home

It's great to be home. All of the trip was fine....except for the final flight from Houston...thank goodness it was only 1 hour long. Briana started crying (she'd been up since 0300) before we even taxied out. Then she puked just before take off...twice. GREAT!! And this was a smaller regional jet. Only 3 seats wide, so the other people weren't too happy with us. Oh well...we'll probably never see them again.

We arrived back in Little Rock Saturday morning at 0830 and were greeted at the airport by many family and friends (even Briana's Pediatrician was there to welcome us home with his son in law and grandson). Of course Benjamin couldn't wait for us to get through security (they were supposed to wait downstairs with the other people) and went through security backwards and set off the alarms.

After telling everyone thank you we grabbed our bags and headed home. We believe this was Briana's first time in a car seat, so we figured it would be interesting. But, as with everything else, she surprised us and rode just fine.

After we got home Briana went her merry way exploring the house. She was practically right at home already!

The boys just love her. Jacob was a little hesitant at the airport, but now he's right there with her all of the time. Both, he and Benjamin, are constantly getting toys out of their room(s) to show her and let her play with.

We figured she'd be a bit overwhelmed by all of it, but she's taken to everything just great!

Several of our friends and cousins have stopped by the house this weekend to see us (mainly her) and she's not complained one bit.

We still have to get her days/nights back on schedule. Saturday night she went to sleep about 1030 and woke up at 12 for a bottle. She then slept until 230 then got upset and puked. I removed the sheets on her bed while Melissa gave her a bath. Then she put her in our bed...and she got upset and puked again. So, I changed those sheets, too. Melissa stayed up with us while I went to sleep with the boys...I'm sure they wouldn't let BOTH of us sleep the next day, so one of us had to get some sleep.

We woke up about 0700 or so and Melissa and Briana was in the kitchen cleaning and stuff. Melissa was tired still so about 0930 she went to lay back down while me and the kids played. Briana took a bottle about 1200 and fell asleep in the living room. I took her to lay her down with Melissa and they continued to sleep until about 1330 or so.

The afternoon was filled with visitors and playing/exploring around the house.

She was very tired about 1000, so Melissa gave her a bottle and put her in bed. The boys had fallen asleep in the living room. Neither of them had had a nap.

I had hoped that Sunday night would be better for her...it was, it seemed. No puking! LOL She woke up about 0230 for a bottle, then went back to sleep until about 0430. Then slept about an hour and a half more when I got her at 0730 to feed her breakfast. Melissa is back in bed while the kids and I play, watch tv, and update the blog.

Now...let me see if I can find some pictures over the last couple of days :D

Congratulations Daniel. She looks adorable. We have a lot of friends who have or are in the process of adopting abroad. It's a long haul but clearly worth it.
